Willis Orchard Company in Seattle, Washington - Willis Orchard Substituted Same Bamboo Instead of Three Different Ordered.

Do not buy bamboo from Willis Orchard unless you want to be disappointed with mass substitution of fake varieties of bamboo plants. Over two years ago I ordered three different kinds of bamboo plants that were planted and grew alike, and looked the same, even though one was supposed to be golden goddess in color, one was supposed to be black, and last was very large bamboo poles of Timber bamboo but an Agriculture expert on bamboo visited my planting and confirmed my suspicion that Willis Orchard Co had sent me Moso bamboo plants that were altogether different from the three I ordered. Willis Orchard wouldn't do anything about this, because I had not held on to my invoice dating back over 2 years. I ask why would I keep an invoice that long when I trusted that Willis Orchard would send me the correct varieties that were ordered. Something needs to be done about this company, that clearly has the worst reputation imaginable when you type in the name Willis Orchard on the Google search engine.

My problem is with an Internet mailorder nursery, Willis Orchard and I was surprised how unprofessional everything appeared, let me explain. I purchased a Hachiya persimmon tree 5-6' that had supposedly borne fruit in 2009. The persimmon tree switch that arrived...

Loss
$20
My recent unpleasant negative experience with Willis Orchards began when I ordered one Elliot and one Sumner pecan tree, 10-12 feet tall, priced at a total of $300.00. When I arrived they tried to overcharge me and ended up selling me un-grafted pecan trees even though...

Willis Orchard Company in Chicago, Illinois - Willis Orchards Sells Dead Trees!

Last March my order placed with Willis Orchard Nursery arrived in late April that was unsatisfactory for several reasons, so I decided to send it all back. The almond tree order was sent too late, I think. When Willis answered the phone he convinced me to go ahead and plant the trees and if the trees didn't grow, he guaranteed that he would replace them. I was unhappy with the almond trees, because they looked like all the leaves had been stripped off during the shipment and a few leaves were even at the bottom of the shipping box, that I think were almond leaves. The almond trees were promptly planted but no buds ever appeared by the end of July and I asked Willis Orchards to send me replacements which they claimed they couldn't do until the Fall. Then I asked for a refund which they also refused to do. After reading their replacement policy I decided to just forget the huge hassle and take my loss and *** my lip. I believe that the almond trees died because Willis Orchards sent me weakened trees because they had been stripped of their leaves and pruned of their roots.

My history with Willis is about like the Houston Astros batting average....200. Out of three fruit trees ordered last year, one survived....this year, neither of the two trees received looks like it is going to make it.

I have ordered my last tree from Willis.

If you assume I don't know how to plant trees....let me say that I bat almost a thousand with trees from local nurseries. :(
